Application of vague sets in keyword proximity search in relational databases
P.K. Butey1, Karan Singh2 and S.S. Thakur3
Abstract: A method of information retrieval can be developed based on keyword proximity of distances among the related objects. In this paper, we apply the notion of vague set theory to search across an entire database for relevant objects that are some how related with each other by defining the distances in the form of true and false distances. Keyword proximity search enables simple "focusing" queries based on general relationship among objects, which is helpful for interactive query sessions. Keyword proximity search is defined based on minimum distance between objects through reference values.
Keywords: vague sets, truth-membership value, false-membership value, keyword proximity search

Pulsatile flow of blood with periodic body acceleration and magnetic field
V. P. Rathod* , Shakera Tanveer, Itagi Sheeba Rani and G.G. Rajput
Abstract: Pulsatile flow of blood through a rigid straight circular pipe has been studied under the influence of body acceleration and magnetic field by considering blood as a couple stress fluid. By applying Laplace and finite Hankel transforms, an exact solution is obtained for the unsteady flow of blood as an electrically conducting, incompressible, couple stress fluid in the presence of a magnetic field along the radius of the tube. Analytical expressions for axial velocity, flow rate and fluid acceleration have been obtained. It is of interest to note that as the magnetic effect is increased the velocity of blood is decreased. The effects of magnetic field and body acceleration have been discussed.

Uncertainty management through vague rough set model
Karan Singh1, P.K. Butey2, S.S. Thakur3 and M. Lal4
Abstract: The fuzzy set theory and rough set theory is being used for dealing uncertainty in relational databases from long time. The vague rough set theory, an attractive combination of vague sets and rough sets is a new concept which can be used for more flexible, more expressive framework for modeling and management of imprecision and uncertain information in relational databases. We intend to give a new definition of vague rough sets, as the most generalization of Pawlak's original concept of rough sets. We utilize the notion of indisce- rnibility and possibility from rough set theory coupled with the idea of membership and non-membership values from vague set theory to represent uncertain information in a manner that maintains the degree of uncertainty of information for each tuple of the original database and also those resulting from queries. Comparisons of theoretical properties of operators with in this model with those in the standard relational database model are discussed.

Double convolution integral equations involving the generalized polynomials
Yashwant Sinha
Abstract: In this paper we first solve a double convolution integral equation
involving the product of the generalized polynomials which is in unified in nature and acts as a key formula from which we can drive a number of double convolution integral equations involving the product of serveral useful polynomials i.e. the Brafman polynomials, the Leguerac polynomials, the Jacobi polynomials and the Hermite polynomials can also be obtained as its special cases. The one variable analogue of the main result which is also quite general in nature and of interest in itself has also been given. A special case of this later result yields a known formula obtained by Srivastava and Buschman7.

Stocahastic analysis of a fault tolerant system with two types of failure
Praveen Gupta and Meenal Bedre
Abstract: This paper studies a stochastic model of a fault tolerant system consisting two subsystems connected in parallel. Each subsystem has two failure modes transient and latent failure. Transient failure occurs due to minor faults in the subsystems. Further, the subsystem enters into the latent failure mode if a major hardware problem arises. The system may recover automatically when it is in transient failure mode. System failure occurs when both the subsystems are in latent failure mode and need replacement. Preventive maintenance of the subsystem is done at random epochs of time when both the subsystems are operative. Using the regenerative point technique, various reliability measures are obtained.

A Population Model with Overcrowding and Migration in Two Adjoining Region with a Barrier at the Interface
Joydip Dhar
Abstract: A population model with over-crowding and continuous diffusion in a two patch environment is proposed by considering a barrier at the interface. Analytically it is shown that there exists a positive, continuous steady state solution in the case of both reservoir (or Dirichlet) and no-flux boundary conditions, that is asymptotically stable in the both linear and nonlinear cases under certain conditions. In the case of uniform equilibrium state it is globally asymptotically stable without any condition.

Pulsatile flow of blood through a stenosed tube under periodic body acceleration with magnetic effect
V. P. Rathod* and Gopichand T. Pawar
Abstract: An interesting mathematical model has been proposed to study the pulsatile flow of blood through a stenosed narrow tube under the influence of Periodic body acceleration. The effect of body acceleration and magnetic field on the stenosed tube has been emphasized. Blood is considered as a couple stress fluid. The analytical expressions for axial velocity, flow rate and fluid acceleration have been obtained by applying finite Hankel and Laplace transforms. The velocity variations with different parameters have been shown graphically. The results have been compared with existing theoretical models and are in good agreement with them. Finally, some biological implications of this theoretical investigation have been indicated.

Some triple integral equations with an application to a crack problem of elasticity
A. P. Dwivedi, Jyotsna Chandel, Poonam Bajpai and S. K. Katiyar
Abstract: The present study investigates a set of triple integral equations involving inverse of Mellin type transform GR. This transform was introduced by Naylor which is suited to regions bounded by the natural coordinates system and apply to finite regions or to infinite regions bounded internally. The equations are solved by reducing them to air foil equation which is a standard one and its solution is given by Lewin. The used of these equations is then illustrated by their application in the solution of a crack problem in the theory of elasticity. We have considered the problem of determining stress intensity factor and crack formation energy of a pair of line cracks near a circular hole in an infinite elastic solid under longitudinal shear.
