On some graphs in electrical networks
M. Dhane and Shabbir Ahmed
Abstract:
A physical interpretation can be viewed, in part, as a system of networks for communication and distribution of energy. Network models and solution techniques provide a rich and powerful framework which many engineering problems and electrical problems can be formulated and solved. A network model that is important from an applied standpoint is that of finding:
1) Shortest Path between two given nodes in graph G,
2) All paths between two nodes of the network passing through connected edges and without circuits in a linear graph as well as network graph.

N. Ahmed and D. P. Barua
Abstract:
The problem of a three dimensional free convection Couette flow of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid in the presence of a uniform magnetic field is considered. The plates involved are vertical, the magnetic field being applied in a direction normal to the plates. The plate at rest is subjected to a transverse sinusoidal injection velocity distribution while the plate in uniform motion is subjected to a constant suction and slip boundary conditions. The analytical expressions for the velocity, temperature and species concentration fields have been obtained. The corresponding expressions for the non-dimensional skin friction components at the plates in the main flow and transverse directions, the non-dimensional rates of heat and mass transfer at the plates in terms of Nusselt number and Sherwood number respectively have been obtained and their behaviors are demonstrated graphically for different values of the parameters involved.

Creeping flow past a swarm of porous approximate oblate spheroidal particles with kuwabara boundary condition
PRAMOD KUMAR YADAV1 and SATYA DEO2
Abstract:
The solution of the problem of symmetrical creeping flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past a swarm of porous approximate oblate spheroidal particles with Kuwabara boundary condition is investigated. The Brinkman equation for the flow inside the porous region and the Stokes equation for the free-flow region in their stream functions formulations are used. As boundary conditions, continuity of velocity and surface stresses across the porous surface and Kuwabara boundary condition on the cell surface are employed. Explicit expressions are investigated for both the inside and outside flow fields to the first order in small parameter characterizing the deformation. The drag force experienced by each porous oblate spheroid in a cell is evaluated. The dependence of drag coefficient on permeability for porous oblate spheroid is presented graphically and discussed. The earlier results reported for a perfect porous sphere and for a solid oblate spheroid, are then deduced from the present analysis.

A comparative study of the exhaust emissions of a low heat rejection engine with two different levels of insulation with jatropha oil based bio diesel
M.V.S. Murali Krishna1, P.V.K. Murthy2, C.M. Vara Prasad3 and A.V. Sita Rama Raju4
Abstract:
In the context of fast depletion of fossil fuels and increase of pollution levels with conventional fuels, the search for alternate fuels has become pertinent. Alcohols and vegetable oils are probable candidates to replace diesel fuels as they are renewable in nature. However, use of alcohols in internal combustion engines is limited, as the properties of alcohol fuels are not compatible with diesel fuels. Hence much emphasis is given to the non-edible vegetable oils as alternate fuels in internal combustion engines. However, the drawbacks of low volatility and high viscosity associated with non-edible vegetable oils call for hot combustion chamber, provided by low heat rejection diesel engine. The crude vegetable oils are converted into bio-diesel by the process of esterification, to reduce the molecular weight and viscosity of crude oil. The investigations are carried out on low heat rejection diesel engines which consist of different degree of insulations such as i) air gap insulated piston with superni crown, air gap insulated liner with superni insert and ii) air gap insulated piston with superni crown, air gap insulated liner with superni insert and ceramic coated cylinder head with esterified jatropha oil (bio-diesel) with varied injection pressures. Pollution levels decreased with high degree of insulation with vegetable oil in comparison with conventional engine with pure diesel operation.

Abstract:
This paper presents an exact solution for fully developing forced convective flow of conduction fluid in a horizontal parallel plate porous channel with an anisotropic permeability whose principal axes are oriented in a direction that is oblique to the gravity vector. A constant heat flux is applied on the channel side walls. A uniform transverse magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates. Expressions for velocity, temperature, average wall friction, pressure variations and Nusselt number for the two cases the high porosity and the low porosity medium are obtained. The effects of anisotropic permeabilities K*, f Darcy number Da, Reynolds number Re and the magnetic parameter M on the above flow quantities are studied numerically through graphs and tables.

Abstract:
A spatio-temporal model of phytoplankton and zooplankton is proposed as very little attention was given for the spatial distribution of plankton popula- tion by previous researcher. Since the plankton populations are not static and uniformly distributed over a region. Therefore, the study of existence, coex- istence and stability analysis makes sense in spatio-temporal domain. In this paper we have studied the existence of linear and nonlinear stability conditions for the uniform as well as non-uniform steady state system using Lyaponov direct method and variational matrix mehod. Moreover it is observed that the diffusion process enhances the stability of the plankton system.

Abstract:
Application is an important part of statistical analysis. Its play a major role in making inference and conclusion of an important finding in a research. A part of important application is transformation and until now, most of the researchers from others discipline using the transformation method that is introduced by Dr. George Edward Pelham Box and Dr. David Roxbee Cox in 1964 to transform the data to achieve normality assumption. This increase the applicability and usefulness of statistical techniques based on the normality assumption. This famous method is called as "Box-Cox Transformation". In Box-Cox transformation method, they transform data if the values of the data are positive with using the certain values of l. Before the process of transformation, we have to know the value of the parameter l because the values of parameter l indicate the kind of transformation needed. In this paper we will illustrate the application of modification for parameter l (improvement) in transformation by using MAPLE and MINITAB software. This study is done based on the data that has been collected from unit of records Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia (HUSM).

A Normality Study Of The Effectiveness Of Different Values Of l
WAN MUHAMAD AMIR W AHMAD1, NYI NYI NAING2 and TENGKU MOHAMAD ARIFF RAJA HUSSEIN3
Abstract:
Data transformation is carried in order to transform the data and assure that it has a normal distribution (a remedy for outliers, failures of normality, linearity and homoscedasticity; this is usually done to prepare the data for regression analysis, as this analysis assumes the data is linear, normal and homoscedastic). This is also known as transformation to linearity. A good indicator of data having a normal distribution is skewness in the range of -0.8 to 0.8 and kurtosis in range of -3.0 to 3.0. One way to determine the effectiveness of a function is by comparison method. These comparisons always give us the information as such the goodness of the fits, goodness of the line in plotting graph and much more. The improvement for normality can be seen from the plotting the graph with different values of l. In this paperwork, we applied the data with the modifying formula in order to check the effectiveness of transformation based on different given l.
