Youness introduced the concepts of E-convex sets and E-convex functions and studied their properties. Following this Xiusu Chen and Suneja, Lalitha and Govil studied the applications of E-convex functions. In this paper we show that Theorem 3.1 of Youness [J. Optim. Theory Appl. 102(2)(1999), 439-450] is incorrect by giving some counter examples. We modify Theorem 3.1 of Youness and apply this to solve an E-convex programming problem.
