Short exact sequence are fundamental objects in abelian categories, and one of the most basic ways to study an additive functor from one abelian category to another is to examine what it does to short exact sequences.

The purpose of this paper is to prove a common fixed point theorem, from the class of compatible continuous maps to a larger class of maps having weakly compatible maps without appeal to continuity, which generalizes the results of Jungck3, Fisher1, Kang and Kim8, Jachymski2, and Rhoades9

The paper analyses a stochastic model of a cold standby system consisting of three non identical units-A, B and C in which two units are operative at a time. A single repair facility is considered to repair a failed unit. The priority in operation is being given to unit A over to unit B and to unit B over unit C. In case of repair of failed units the priority is just reverse than operation. The failure and repair times of each unit are assumed to follow bivariate exponential distribution. Several measures of system effectiveness are obtained by using regenerative point technique.

Recently Jin Han Park8,9 et.al.[Further results on rg-continuity, Far East J. Math.Soc.2000 special volume part 11, 237-244 and On preserving rg-closed sets, East Asian Math.J.16(1) (2000),125-133] studied rg-continuity and some preservation theorems using rg-closure operator and Gnanambal et.al.[On gpr-continuous functions in topological spaces, Indian J.Pure.appl.Math.,30(6)(1999), 581-593] discussed gpr-continuous functions using gpr-closure operator. Quite Recently Balasubramanian4 et.al.[gpr-separation axioms-I, IJMA, 2(10) (2011), 2055-2067] discussed several types of gpr-separation axioms. The purpose of this paper is to investigate some properties of rg-closure operator, gpr-closure operator and gpr-separation axioms. The most important result that is proved in this paper is “ In a topological space every singleton set is rg-open” that leads to the investigation of some of the results due to Jin Han Park et. al. Gnanambal et. al. and separation axioms due to Balasubramanian et. al.

In this paper we for the first time introduce a new fuzzy dynamical system, viz. Fuzzy Linguistic Cognitive Maps (FLCM) model which works on ‘min’ and ‘max’ operations. We apply this new model to the problem of rural students in city colleges, especially taking / studying their psychological problems for it cannot be directly studied using supervised data.
This paper has three sections. Section one introduces this new model. Section two applies this problem to the psychological problems faced by the rural students studying in city colleges. The final section gives the use as well as the advantages of using the model.

The aim of this paper is to introduce and study the concepts of intuitionistic fuzzy weakly generalized irresolute mappings in intuitionistic fuzzy topological space. We investigate some of their properties.
